Going on a cruise can be an exciting and relaxing vacation, but it’s important to make sure you’re prepared with the right items to pack. While there are items you can purchase onboard if you forget yours at home, you can definitely be prepared to pay a mark up! So save your coin and spend it where it matters–like on a Mai Tai 😉 Here are some essentials to consider when packing for your cruise:
- Swimwear: Don’t forget to pack your bathing suits and cover-ups. Besides the pool decks and hot tubs for you to enjoy while at sea, you’ll also be prepared for the beach or any snorkeling excursions.
- Comfortable shoes: Whether you’re exploring the ship or going on excursions at ports of call, you’ll want to have comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing.
- Sunscreen: Protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays by packing sunscreen with a high SPF. You’ll likely be spending a lot of time outdoors on deck or on shore excursions.
- Formal attire: Many cruises have formal nights where you’ll want to dress up for dinner. Be sure to pack some nicer outfits for these occasions. Plus the shoes to go with it!
- Toiletries: While most cruises provide basic toiletries like soap and shampoo, it’s a good idea to pack your own preferred products to avoid any skin sensitivities.
- Medications: Make sure to bring along any prescription medications you may need, as well as over-the-counter remedies for motion sickness or minor ailments. You’ll find things like Tylenol in the ship’s shop, but you’ll pay significantly more for them!
- Hat and sunglasses: Protect yourself from the sun by packing a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to shield your eyes.
- Electronics: It’s likely you won’t forget your phone, but don’t forget the charger! Also, you’ll want to bring a camera to capture the memories of your cruise. Plus, you may also want to bring your e-reader for relaxing by the pool.
By packing these essential items, you’ll be well-prepared for a fantastic and stress-free cruise vacation.
